Happy Birthday Honey
My darling has entered his final year in his 30's, and of course has chosen to take up cycling again - is this a bid to appear to stay young ?? ;)
Other than his beautiful bike as a birthday present, we want to thank The Sharks for delivering an awesome winning performance against the Chiefs for his birthday, now they just have to follow through against the Waratahs.....

Happy Birthday Aimee
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday darling Aiiiiimmmmeeeee...
Happy Birthday to You !
Aimee celebrated her 9th birthday on March 31st 2008.
She was thrilled with her gifts and not overly concerned that she wouldn't be having a party.
It was explained that she would be having an awesome time and loads of special experiences in Thailand. It is always so difficult to arrange something because her birthday falls either during or just before Spring Break each year and so many people are travelling. Thanks for being so understanding and cooperative my baby.

Wateen's birthday party
The girls attended a birthday party of one of Aimee's arab classmates recently. Was at a farm so it was a cowboy theme. Each child - and there were plenty, got a bandana & cowboy hat to wear and a sherif's badge. They enjoyed horserides and games included shooting at targets, and sack races (notice the interesting sacks hehehe). The girls had a ball and wow you should have seen the cake/s - filled a 2x1m table !

Happy Birthday Lucy
Lucy turned 7 on October 7, 2007. Except for the October that'd look pretty cool hehehe. We did the present thing before heading out for school and of course because her main present was a trampoline (which her big sister helped us put together the night before), we were very excited to get home and put in some more jumping time :) Does it look like she was excited at her surprise ???? Even Aimee can't help herself and she knew about it hehehe
Her birthday party was scheduled for Thursday October 11, friends from school joined us for some old-fashioned fun. As much as she begged to go to Sparky's (amusement arcade/park) mom and dad held fast and we decided to just stay home. So after mom had gone out the night before with friends (not feeling so great now), she was up early baking and getting all the food ready. We sorted out the activities ..... pass-the-parcel, musical statues, musical cushions and "The Chocolate Game", and of course there were the scooters, balls, jump ropes and the trampoline outside too. A fun morning had by all - especially André in sneaking a choice photo or two :grrr:
please note the very special beanie we had the children use for the game hehehe
oooh and then their was the cupcake decorating too -
think more decoration ended up in mouths than on cakes heheheh

and it this point I am just plain moeg, but ....at least I have the remote control hehehehe
And lest we forget - well we missed the email by a day....a special mention to "The Old Man" in the family hehehehe Happy Birthday Malcolm, hope the 10th was good, and if not.....well there's always next year :) hugs and kisses.
And Uncle Scarbie - hope your birthday was wonderful too, no fair you got to go to Mauritius though :( hope it was good !
And Wade, hope you had a wonderful day too :)

Happy Birthday Mommy
Well last year I managed to make my mother one whole year younger by confusing the year she was born hehehe
This year I only made her a day younger =(
I got a phonecall from my wonderful mother on her birthday and proceeded to argue with her that her birthday was only tomorrow and why was she calling when I'd be calling to wish her tomorrow
Yes you may have noticed my brain is not at full function what with the stress of work obviously hehehe
So happy birthday Mommy, love you more every day and wish I was there to celebrate with you - maybe then I wouldn't mix up the days hehehe

Birthday party for Lucy
So we invited all 20 of Lucy's classmates to her birthday party on Thursday. Only HALF responded !
Not a problem less 5/6 year olds to deal with hehehe :)
But seriously made the party-prep a little tricky. Two of the boys live on compound and so their slightly older sisters asked to come along. This brought the expected total to 12 children, I can live with that !
Here we have the girls pre-party, while we put chairs etc. in the front garden.
We had arranged a bus to collect us after 30 minutes and take us across to The Mad House.
This is one of the facilities on our compound. What has happened is management have taken one of the sets of squash courts (so 2 sets of 3 remain in use) and filled it with a huge indoor play area. There's a tunnel from one court/playground through to the other too which adds even more fun.
It's great and the advantage is you can book it out for private use as we did for the party !
We headed over there for just over an hour and the kids ran riot - which of course they can do in there !
Back to the house for a quick game of pass-the-parcel which went so well we didn't have time for musical statues before sitting down for snacks/lunch - yes I had been up from veeerrrry early getting it all sorted (party started at 9am), energy for cooking/baking is just not very evident in my house !
The cake was a real flop ! Had baked two to form an "L" and decorate. BUT... when moving the one half, it just fell apart ggrrrr. So thankfully small number attending, we could make do with just the, that wasn't up to much itself (iced and name on in smarties by request only) and the cupcakes I'd baked as well.
Finally they all sat, quiet as mice with their mouths full of food - and we ask "Why didn't we start feeding them as they walked in the door ????"
Blow out the candles, sing happy birthday, party bags and off they went home.
Check out the photos below for a sneak peak at our fun morning.
