Ramadan Kareem

As I head off to Jordan today - ECPW meeting, I wish you all Ramadan Kareem. Even though we have had terrible dusty/sandy days with almost no chance of sighting the moon, the powers that be have decided Ramadan has started. So its, no eating, drinking, chewing gum, smoking etc. in public for the next month. Consolation is the Eid break at the end I guess =)
Have a good month wherever you are !

p.s. good luck to the Boks for Friday, do us proud boys...as I miss yet another of your RWC games !

These were taken at the airport with André's phone,
now you can see Lucy's fourth tooth is gone too :)

Happy Birthday Mommy

Well last year I managed to make my mother one whole year younger by confusing the year she was born hehehe
This year I only made her a day younger =(
I got a phonecall from my wonderful mother on her birthday and proceeded to argue with her that her birthday was only tomorrow and why was she calling when I'd be calling to wish her tomorrow
Yes you may have noticed my brain is not at full function what with the stress of work obviously hehehe
So happy birthday Mommy, love you more every day and wish I was there to celebrate with you - maybe then I wouldn't mix up the days hehehe

Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to work we go

Its just busy busy busy busy busy here, so much to do and not enough hours in the day.
We are so pleased to have started the year with increased enrollment but sadly not enough teachers - any takers out there ???
Other than this, well there's not much time for anything else. Maybe in a few weeks it'll quieten down - we hope so anyway.

First day of school

August 26 and the new school year begins.
Aimee is in GRADE THREE - wow, don't feel old enough.
Lucy is in Grade One.
We're looking forward to a wonderful year.

Toothless

Tis the season....not Christmas yet hehehe but it seems to be the season for losing teeth.
Lucy is now showing us a really adorable toothy grin. She has lost 4 teeth in front within days of eachother. Money making scheme I think - she keeps telling people she got a "5 dollar" for each tooth  no way she only got SAR5 hehehe
Thankfully it'll be a while until the tooth fairy has to dish out any more money, well she hopes anyway !

these were taken the day before she lost the fourth one, scary face and all hehehe

My waterbabies

We had booked swimming classes for the girls before going home to SA and the day has arrived. I am more than a little apprehensive because the last two times that they have been offered on compound, Lucy has got into the water and then refused
Now this is a little ironic because she was meant to be my water-baby, booked at the hospital and everything, little rascal just came into the world quicker than they could fill the bath  maybe this was meant to be a warning - anything to avoid water hehehe
'Well anyway the first class was disastrous. Thankfully the instructor figured it was going to uphill and changed tactics.
The classes ran for a week - 30minute classes each morning Saturday-Wednesday. Wednesday they each swam for a badge and yay....Aimee got her 50m and Lucy managed a 10m - all on her back.
They will be starting a 8 week course next week and hopefully both can improve further.
(sitting in Jordan right now with photos on the camera back home so they'll have to wait for now)
