Bosch Family goes to KINGS PARK (aka Absa Stadium Durban)

Okay so after our fabulous trip and wonderful score in Pretoria last weekend, as a family we headed for Kings Park yesterday to see the Sharks play the Cheetahs. It wasn't going to be as spectacular as last weekend - afterall we weren't staying in the same hotel as our boys this week hehehe but its been ages since the girls were at the stadium so ....
Great afternoon/evening together. Kim, Malcolm and Jordyn joined us, unfortunately Alison, Llewelyn and Keagan had a braai in Toti so they couldn't. Girls had a ball shouting for their team - The Sharks naturally :)
But they must be a curse or something cos our boys didn't quite shine as brightly as last weekend against the Bulls :(
We lost against the Cheetahs which effectively pushed us from the number two slot on the log down to four :(
Was great to catch up with Larry, Niki and the boys who we hadn't seen for years too :)

So anyway, enjoy the photos of our day together ....
Girls flying their Sharks flags proudly !

Now many would consider these ladies an EXCELLENT reason to attend a game at Kings Park :(
Aimee, Jordyn and Lucy getting with the spirit of things :)
The game is done, the Sharks have lost and we're kindof smiling ???

And the festivities on the outer fields begin !

Couldn't blame this very happy Cheetah's supporter posing for a photo with us now could you hehehe

And then he was off to go and celebrate and we headed home to lick our wounds :(

Our big weekend away !

Andre and I headed to Pretoria for the weekend. The Sharks were facing The Bulls at Loftus. This gave us the opportunity to meet some of the friends we have gotten to know online at Ruggaworld . The Sharks versus The Bull ? Rob, Aldo and Andrè
The early-birds in our Ruggaworld shirts (Andrè, Tracy, Deon, Mia, Rob, Aldo & Kowie - not sure on the spelling sorry)
THE SCOREBOARD SAYS IT ALL !!!!
First the game together which ended on a VERY positive note :)
Sharks 37 Bulls 28 !
Aldo still smiling after his team has lost - now that's good sportmanship !
Don't know if we'd be feeling the same !Fabulous evening together !
Afterwards we all went out for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Aldo of course being the token Bulls supporter among us was forced to don a Sharks tattoo as penalty for his team losing.
Doesn't he look fabulous with that little addition to his forehead - look at that smile hehehe :)
Even Gambrinus had to take his turn at consoling him heheheOops the waitress taking the photo was a little shaky ???
"Murph", Gambrinus and the infamous Afrikaans CD which the management at DROS 'could not' play for the Ruggaworld group :)

Saturday we spent with Aldo and his family on his farm outside Pretoria central to watch The Springboks face The All Blacks. Sadly the game did not end as positively as The Sharks game the previous night. Aldo has a beautiful family - seen below are some photos of his adorable daughters and some of the many photos Andre took of the Sharpei puppies that they breed.
Thanks for your hospitality Aldo !

Saturday night - dinner with Rob and friends - thanks for a great evening everyone !
Sunday, Andre and I spent a relaxing day together, just the two of us - very nice :)
Monday was our travel day, of which we spent more than an hour stuck in traffic trying to leave Pretoria/Johannesburg. Andre said " THIS (the traffic) is a very good reason why we would NEVER live in Gauteng !" hehehe
Anyway home to good old Durban and to two very happy little girls :)
Thanks to all those who contributed to a great weekend away - not least of all Mommy for having Aimee and Lucy for the weekend.
'Til the next one ?

July 17 - 21

So the past week was a good one for us as a family. The girls got to spend some quality time with us. Over the past few days ... Andre and I sorted out some necessary business. The extended family celebrated Dylan's 19th birthday (July 19) - icecreams etc. at Milky Lane together.
Thursday we went to Ushaka for the morning. Andre had promised the girls last Thursday that we'd go together once we had gotten some of the adult stuff done. Considering we were leaving for Pretoria next day, Thursday was crunch time. Not the greatest day weather wise - water was frrreeeeezzzzing !@! Some of the rides had heated water :) The kiddie pool however didn't feel heated and yet amazingly the girls didn't seem bothered at all.

Now Lucy aka Big Scaredy Cat, doesn't like the other rides but after a few of these she was hooked and just wanted more and more and more - on her own too hehehe !

My Husband The Lifeguard !
Just before lunch - so just before we were leaving to fetch Dylan from Damelin - Andre was forced to play lifeguard. Sitting in front of the kiddie pool, there was a lady who seemed to have a semi-paralyzed left arm and leg. She was sitting watching her daughter in the pool - husband had gone to buy lunch. Suddenly she calling for the lifeguard on duty. He didn't seem to notice her at all. She was continuing to grow more animated. So Andre ran into the water to retrieve her daughter who was not coming up from coming down a little slide. After he smacked her on the back she coughed up some water. They walked over to her very distraught mother together. The lifeguard still hadn't noticed a thing ! Ain't my man something !!!

And so this brings us to the ends of our day out together - mmmm icecream on a cool day on Durban Beachfront :)
(hehehe did you notice that in some of the photos above we're feeling the cold just a tad hehehe)

Our boy back with us :)

Aimee had her very first sleep over Tuesday night with Cheslyn. Don't know how Tammy survived hehehe Aunty Elaine and Uncle Aubrey had offered to take the girls with to an Animal Farm on Tuesday. Aimee went but Lucy 'chickened' out as usual hehe. Aimee ended up staying over with Cheslyn afterwards. Lucy did however go with for a quick trip to the beach Wednesday morning before picking up Dad at the airport. Thankyou Aunty Elaine, Uncle Aubrey & Tammy, you guys are great and the girls had a ball !
The week started off as usual - busy !
Alison went to Headway http://www.headway.org.za/ on Monday to register, fill in forms etc. Back again on Tuesday for an assessment by the occupational therapist and physio. Doing exercises at home on Wednesday showed our break though. We hadn't done anything at home because of the visits to Headway and Alison was quite a bit stiffer and tired sooner than she had previously. Mom was an observer taking notes - with Andrè arriving, we wanted to record the exercises so that others could continue them with Alison while I spent time with my boy :).
Which brings us to .... Andrè arrived this week - some very happy girls met him at the airport. After sorting out the car at Tempest, we had to drive a mile to fetch my Mom's. Durban Airport is in the process of building a huge parking structure but it means the existing parking in front of the airport is no longer. Good thing the girls and I were a little early to pick him up as we ended up parking practically at the end of the runway - actually took a shuttle bus to get back to the airport !!
So back home, we celebrated a belated Father's Day together :)
Next morning my Mom took Dylan for his learners test (which thankfully he passed), girls went along to free Andrè and I up to run some errands - had to drop a shirt off with the Sharks for signatures - thanks for organizinging this PA ! Will be collecting it again before we leave on Friday for the Sharks vs Bulls game next week. The very tight game by the Sharks yesterday gives slight cause for concern although it was the 'B' team playing :) Aldo - here's your warning : stopped off at the Shark Cage and bought you a very stylish Sharks tattoo which Andrè will ensure you wear WHEN the Sharks win next week hehehe seems you're the only Bulls supporter joining us next week, should there be any others, we have enough to share the shame with hehehe
And still on the topic of rugby .... our Springboks - although Andrè says "Don't even bother going there" what a disappointing game :( WOW we love being in the history books but a 49-0 score to the Wallabies is not the way we prefer :( They best do some serious soul searching this week before facing the All Blacks next Saturday ! And if all else fails, hey we could just get a new coach as per our previous track record suggests hehehe. Maybe our Under 21 squad should be called up to represent us if the 'big boys' don't start showing what they're supposedly made of - soon !
Okay so back to us and what we've been up to ...
Friday we took the girls to Brian Boswell's Circus which was in Durban. We got a chance to walk-about-a-bit with the animals before the show.

Although typically I disagree with circus' because of the high possibilities of animal exploitation and mistreatment, the outing was a good one. The animals in the show were minimal, definitely more acrobatics etc which were impressive. The girls were more dumbstruck by the people than the animals :) During the interval children five and younger were offered a pony ride - big sister Aimee was not impressed that Lucy got to ride and not her :(
So now its the weekend, yesterday was spent watching rugby and F1 qualifying.
My Mom has gone off for the day with friends for an outing to Scottburgh which is a nice break for her and we're just relaxing at home.
